the thursday i decided to make something

SETTING THE SCENE...

i woke up and had the urge to sew something

i'd been wanting to make a sweater/cardigan/hoodie for a loooong looong time

like 2 years ago long time xD

i'd bought 2 blocks of fabric from an op shop for $1 each

they were jersey knit and were really nice wintery fabrics :D

and i've been wanting to make a sweater/cardigan/hoodie ever since then

but inspiration never came to me

today i woke up

and i was itching to sew

i got out those chunks of fabric...

one of the chunks stood out to me more ...

i placed my hands on it...

and i knew what i was going to make..

not...

LOL if only it were like that xD

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED...

i knew i wanted to make a sweater/cardigan/hoodie thing

a cross between all of them

i wanted puffy sleeves

and for it to be mid thigh length

i wanted it baggy

and i wanted it nice and comfy

i didn't have a pattern for a hoodie sweater or cardi

so i had to make do with what i had

i used that pyjama pattern from way back in like year...8 i think xD

horrible pattern

but had the basic shapes i needed (:

CONSTRUCTION...

the whole garment was a guess and check trial and error

like everything else i make

but it turned out good

i think (:

SCRUTINISING THE FABRIC CHUNK 

haha five points for taking up the hallway for a few hours xD

SLEEVES

 i completely forgot about flipping the pattern

and....

i made two "right" sleeves LOL... T___T

but it worked out in the end xD

you just see them seam if you look SUPER closely xD

 MAIN BODY

which is where i got stuck

and was staring off into space for an hour or so .. aha

SEWING EVERYTHING TOGETHER 

mapped it out on the ground first

haha, the ground is the BEST workspace (:

 one sleeve on :D

AND THEN YAT CALLS

yat : can you come ewood to eat, like.. NOW?

me : D:! nooo i'm in the middle of making something

yat : OOH! can i like.. come over?

me : LOL! ok xD

yat : OHH YAY

I FORCE HER TO MODEL MY WORK-IN-PROGRESS

LOL it was sooo big on yat xD

i tried to get her to take a photo with me

but i failed >:O!!

all i got was...

and YES she was studying MATHS at my house O:!!

CHATTING ABOUT FASHION

had a nice talk about all the new season trends and everything else to do with fashion

she helped me make a decision on what to do with my sweater/cardigan/hoodie combo (:

being the indecisive person i am xD

and behold....
