PARRAMATTA EISTEDDFOD

MY DAY...

IN AS MUCH DETAIL AS POSSIBLE :D

let me warn you : you WILL! get bored

 LAST NIGHT

it was hard to sleep xO

the etude kept playing over and over again in my head

i tried to get to sleep

and eventually i succeeded

 CHURCH

SO! i started the day off with church

walked with my mum to mass

i wanted to practice piano but my brother was still sleeping

and i figured i needed to wait awhile for him to wake up

so i decided i'd go mass with my mum

it started sprinkiling a bit

and it was cold walking there and back

ha .. i was already dressed for the eisteddfod as i was so stressed xO 

 MASS 

today's mass was about creation

i was fully focused...

until thoughts of the eisteddfod started to creep into my head

i started getting restless

i was getting butterflies

before long the mass was over and we made our way back home

PRACTICE  

by this time it was around 11

and i asked my mum if she thought it'd be ok for me to start practicing

she said yea! it's 11 gogogo!

so i practiced

and practiced

for almost a straight hour

till it was time to go

ON THE WAY

me being me

i was a huge stressed out thing sitting in the back of the car

i was so stressed

i had to continuously look at the sheet music to ensure i had the correct notes in my head

i was stressing cause i should've downloaded a recording to listen to in the car

i didn't so i had to make do with the recording that was by now imprinted in my brain on replay

 

GRANVILLE TOWN HALL
so we get to the venue
and we go in
it was $5 just to get in and sit for family members T___T
my brother said he'd stand outside
(felt bad cause it was soo cold)
it was about 1:30 by now
and i was wondering where rachel was
cause she was in the section before mine
and i couldn't see her anywhere
the sections ends
and rachel comes in
i say hi! and ask how come she hasn't gone yet
and then she explains to me that the section STARTS at 1pm
and there are 3 parts to that section
me being in the 3rd and final section
meaning that i am WAAAY to early T___T
goes to sho how long i haven't been to an eisteddfod before T_T
so i tell my mum and she goes off at me
we end up going to sit in the car

RACHEL'S SECTION
so we all sit in the car for about an hour
and then i decide to go in and watch rachel
i go in JUST as the section before her ends
she plays her piece and WOW's as usual
the section as REALLY short cause only half the people turned up 
and before long the section ends
results come out 
and...
RACHEL COMES FIRST :D
WOOO! CONGRATULATIONS :D

my mum then says

let's hope her good luck rubs onto you

WAITING...

so the people in my section get called up

we have to sit against the wall

i take my place in the no.4 seat

no.1 plays

no.2 plays

no.3 plays

they all played typical performance pieces...

by the time 3 finishes i am worrying that my piece is going to be the most boringest thing ever 

MY TURN

 i get up on stage and wait for the 2nd adjudicator to signal me to go

he nods

i intro myself and what i'm playing

then i sit and play

i take my time..

i hit the first chord

and omfg.. the piano is sooo crap

i can hardly hear any dynamics

and it's all muddy and unclear xO

i can hear the strings inside the piano twang as i play

i finish and pause for dramatic effect

by now i've lost all hope of winning anything

i was with an unfamiliar piano

and i'd played quite a few unclear notes

regardless, i get up bow and make my way back to my seat

as i get down from the stage, no 1 2 & 3 are staring at me as i walk past them

i avert my eyes from their gaze as i think them staring is a bad thing

MORE WAITING...

so my turn was over!

i sit there and start shaking

the nerves got to me after i'd finished playing which i found to be strange

but i felt lucky it hadn't got to me before

there were 6 people after me as 1 hadn't turned up 

half the people after me played chopin pieces

not to mention the number of etudes they played too

i had lost all hope by then

my piece was boring

nothing cool at all

none of that awesome trill-y stuff that people usually played at eisteddfods

my piece wasmade up of  arpeggios accidentals chords

everything you WOULDN"T play at an eisteddfod

D-DAY

 the last performance was over

it was time for results

the judges were taking so much more longer than usual

i saw them writing out so many of the highly commended certificates 

THEN!

the head adjudicator  marie goodwin gets up

she announces that everyone who played in this sections was amazing

and that everyone was all highly competent piano players

and that she had to give something to everyone

and that if we had been separate entries in different sections, we would all have come first 

so she starts announcing

SHOCK

so i'm sitting there thinking....

ok! i'm one of the highly commended people

she starts reading names out

and people start going out to collect awards

she doesn't read out my number, no.4

the person on my right gets one

the person on my left gets one

at this stage, my eyes begin to widen

more names are read out

the highly commended awards are starting to all dissappear

my mouth starts to open

by the time she gets to the last highly commended award i'm certain it's me

to my surprised it's NOT!

my mouth is open in shock

i sit there thinking... she must've made a mistake

no way am i top 3 O:

she announces who comes 3rd

and it's still not me

by this stage my eyes and mouth are both wide open 

i sit there and realise there's only TWO people left

meaning that i'm top 2 O:!!

i think ok i must be 2nd then

she read out the number of the person who came second

she says that the person who came second played amazingly

huge chords blahblah

i'm thinking yep tick all boes

that describes my piece

she read out  no.6

my mouth is literally on the ground by now

i am sitting there shaking my head with my mouth wide open

eyes literally popping out of my head

i'm not 2nd
she then announces the person who came first

meaning

I CAME FIRST :D!!!!!!!!!

OMFG! i was honestly NOT expecting to come anything at all

 i was sooo surprised

i went to hug my mum and started crying

it was happy tears though

unfortunately i was in full view of everyone aha....

not to mention i'll be seeing some of today's people again next week T___T

PRIDE OF PLACE

 i now have something to put on my piano :D 

CELEBRATION

so my mum says that we should celebrate me winning 1st place

my bro suggests gwen's or mizuya

and i'm told to make a decision

i say nooo i dnt want to decide

and my bro suggests tossing a coin

ended up going mizuya :D
